Supporting Habitat

One of the major functions of the Habitat ReStore is to raise money for Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity and their mission of eliminating substandard housing in our community. Since opening in the fall of 2005 through 2008, the ReStore has been able to pay off of our startup costs and help contribute to Habitat.

Our First Sponsored Home

In the spring of 2009, it was announced that the Habitat ReStore had been so successful that we would be able to sponsor an entire Habitat build, here in the Fox Cities. This is an enormous leap forward for our store because it typically takes stores 5-10 years to be able to reach this level, but we were able to do it in less than 4!

Work began on the ReStore sponsored house for Alan & Hope Peterson in June of 2009 and continued until the week of Thanksgiving when we had our dedication service for the home. Not only was the home built with funding from the ReStore, but it was physically errected by us...our staff, volunteers, shoppers & donors all contributed to the building of the Peterson Family's new home.
